Biography[edit]
Robert Gilchrist was the Clerk for Hudson County, New Jersey from 1840 to 1865. It was during this time that he was involved int he inquest over the Loss brothers in relation to the murder of Mary Cecilia Rogers. He was later mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey from 1850 to 1852.
