When starting a new page from a template for the first time, it is best to create the broken link on another page first, so that the text will show in red. Click on that to create the new page. Then write subst: followed by the name of the template and click save. The new page will populate with the template populated. For Census or other table based templates, it is then best to use the "Edit" feature rather than "Edit source" - so that it is easier to see where you are imputing the information. If you would like to add an additional line to the table (common for census templates), click in the row before or after where you would like to place the new row, or just click on the last row if you would like to add to the end. An error will appear at the far end of the row. Click on that errow and select "Insert below" or "Insert above" as desired.
