If you don't set up the Enable web search in Copilot policy, internet search is offered to users by default in both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, unless you establish the Permit the use of additional optional connected experiences in Office policy to Impaired.

Copilot Chat is currently pinned by default in the navigating bar of the Microsoft 365 Copilot application, Teams, and Overview for a lot of customers that are eligible for Copilot Conversation throughout the internet, mobile, and desktop computer.

If you previously chose 'Do not pin Copilot to the navigation bar' in the Microsoft 365 admin center and also uncontrolled the 'Enable users to be asked whether they intend to pin it' alternative, your setting setup is 'Do not pin' and your users still won't have Copilot pinned in their navigating bar.

The Allow internet search in copilot portal login plan also enables you to manage internet search for individuals with a Microsoft 365 Copilot certificate. To ensure people across your company have easy accessibility to Copilot Conversation and can benefit from its safety and experience updates, we recommend that your users have Microsoft 365 Copilot Conversation pinned to their navigating bar.
