Louis Mailahn was born in Pomerania and immigrated with his parents to the United States in about 1872, and his parents purchased their 40 acre farm in Black Creek, Outagamie, Wisconsin in 1878. He likely worked on his fathers farm prior to his marriage to [[Augusta Schmidt Mailahn|Augusta "Gustie" Schmidt]] in about 1880. In Feb of 1890 he and Gusite officially purchased their own 20 acre farm a few miles away, still in Black Creek. They had an extremely large family but tragedy began to hit in 1905 with a long series of deaths to tibuerculosis. Louis Mailahn was born in Pomerania and immigrated with his parents to the United States in about 1872, and his parents purchased their 40 acre farm in Black Creek, Outagamie, Wisconsin in 1878.
