Case File: Mailahn Family

Episodes[edit]

Bio[edit]

John was the fifth son, and youngest child, of the family. His entire life would have been a constant loss of close relatives to consumption, including his mother and five older sisters, until 2 Feb 1912. After his elder brother William had ensured that their eldest brother Edward had left to pick up the other older brothers from school, William quietly killed his father and sister. It is believed that John either witnessed one of these murders directly, or saw his brother covered in blood. Little John, only 8 years old, ran to the smokehouse about 50 yards behind the house, to hide. But he was no match for his brother who found him and, with a razor, slit Johnnie's throat from ear to ear. The body was still warm when the brothers returned. No specific details of his life or personality were mentioned.
