From OLD TWISTED ROOTS

Hello,

I recently listened to your first episode--with special interest, since my ancestors and I grew up in Wisconsin.

If you're not already aware of it, I wanted to draw your attention to the book Wisconsin Death Trip, by Michael Lesy. It was published in 1973. I was 23 years old then, and clearly recall the "stir" it created. With contemporaneous photos and newspaper excerpts, it effectively lobbed a bomb into the hazy sentimentality about the holdsome "good old days."

I just discovered that, in 1999, James Marsh created a docudrama based on the book, but I have never seen it!

Best wishes, Carla Tracy carlatracy1218@gmail.com
